A make-up artist, also known as a makeup artist and frequently abbreviated as MUA, is a creative professional whose primary medium is the human body. MUAs work on people to apply makeup and prosthetics for productions in theatre, television, film, fashion, magazines, and other settings, including all facets of the modelling business.
Makeup artists utilise their skills and their equipment to modify, enhance, and change a person’s face (and sometimes their body). Their work enhances good qualities, covers up flaws, and fixes problems. Makeup artists are true artists in their own right, whether they are enhancing cheekbones for a special occasion, perfecting the smoky eye for a photo shoot, or using prosthetics for stage performances.
