Skill Development is the process of identification of the skills gap in youth and providing skilling training & employment benefits to them. Skill development programs aim to acknowledge the ability of the youth and extend their support by serving them with the proper guidance, infrastructure, opportunities, and encouragement that help them achieve their ambitions. Education and skills are essential for everyone, and they both walk hand in hand in everyone’s career journey. They are the roots behind the economic growth and community development of a country.

Through community-based and non-formal educational practises in rural and urban precincts, to improve the social, mental, economic, physical, and spiritual development of youths who have left the education system early, particularly youths at risk. Hence, Both central & state governments are continuously making efforts to provide skill development to the youth with their skilling partners around the country.

Shridevi Centre for Skill Development, Tumkur (SCSDT) is such a Skill Development Partner Registered Under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDC) conducting the skill oriented courses with a mission to impart the best quality industry oriented technical education to deserved students from all the sections of the society.

The goal of the SCSDT is to create a large pool of technical trained personnel to address vital skill development gaps in our country, crucial for economic growth and self-sufficiency. The benefits of Skill Development include increased business profits, improved performance, improved accuracy & quality, improved communication, complies with rules & regulations, improved recruitment & career opportunities, and development of good customer relations.

The intended target audience for skill development at the centre includes engineers, supervisors and faculty members of technical institutes. Training will cover both skill upgradation and also acquisition of new skills. More than 50 percent of the course duration will be devoted to hands-on learning in well-equipped laboratories. The faculty members for the courses will be selected from world class leading organisations, including governement sectors like IISc, HAL, ISRO, DRDO etc.

Shridevi Centre for Skill Development assists in areas that will promote youth contributions to nation-building and prosperity, economic independence, and unemployment reduction. Working toward an educated and skill-based workforce, effective governance, peacebuilding, and imparting positive values in society are important priorities.
